Canadian business listing sites, checked by hand.

Where a Canadian business should be listed online, which sites are free, which have a French version, and which ones to skip. We opened every site on this page ourselves.

Why listings still matter

Google checks what other sites say about your business. When your name, address and phone number match everywhere, Google can trust them. When they don't, customers find old numbers and closed locations.

Some directories copy their details from bulk business-data suppliers rather than from you. Keeping your core listings accurate is usually how an old address or phone number eventually disappears from them.

You don't need hundreds of listings. A handful of accurate ones on sites Canadians actually use does more than a long list nobody visits.

Once your listings are claimed, you can add schema to your own website so it says the same thing. To make a direct review link, find your Place ID.

Do these first

Start with these five

These cover most of the places people look up a local business. Each one is free.

  1. Google Business Profile

The listing that shows in Google Search and Maps. Claim it before anything else.

  4. Yelp.ca

National directories

General directories that list any kind of business across Canada. Start with the high-reach ones.

Reach is our rough label for how many people in Canada use a site: high, medium or low. It comes from third-party traffic estimates we checked in September 2026. Platforms like Google, Apple and LinkedIn are marked Platform.

Sites for your industry

Industry sites often matter more than general directories, because they're where customers compare businesses like yours.

  • Mediative

    The domain no longer resolves.

Questions before you start

No. Google, Apple, Bing, Yelp, Facebook and most national directories offer a free listing. Some sites sell upgrades, and chamber of commerce directories come with a paid membership.
